Specialist Services

At DMC we provide a number of solutions to legal and financial firms. These are sophisticated systems that improve the processes and practices of the firms we work with.

We can introduce both bulk scan and ad-hoc scan facilities. These can be configured to seamlessly integrate with existing systems and case management software, including the LexisNexis products of Axxia, Visualfiles and recently DNA. dmc have also built custom connectors to aid firms that have experienced problems with scan facilities supplied by other providers, please see the Martin Kaye case study for further details.

Firms can make particular use of a Print Program DMC supply. This rule-based software manages printing throughout an organisation, enforcing print restrictions on certain users and applications. You will find it cuts costs and reduces environmental impact. Using this program you can enforce duplex and mono print on all Outlook prints. And because email prints are usually a firm’s most costly print activity this will result in reduced print costs.

Many organisations need to track costs and attribute these to a specific cost code. At DMC we can introduce a system whereby costs can be assigned to a department, user, client or case. You can then accurately bill all of your clients and recover copy and print costs.

DMC’s Print Analysis uses the latest tracking technology to identify areas of print waste. Changes can then be made to print behaviour through rule-based software to reduce print costs and encourage environmentally responsible printing.

Case Studies

The client is a medium sized law firm based in London, established for over 250 years. They provide legal services to private clients and to UK and international companies and financial institutions.

They were concerned about the length of time it took for the company responsible for maintaining their Canon colour copiers to supply parts to rectify faults. To enable the organisation to operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible the Firm was looking to adopt an automated comprehensive service alert system, and move to a more reliable service provider.

This major law Firm, which has more than 200 years of history as solicitors, has recently expanded to service the growing commercial needs of modern business.  One of the Firm's key operational headaches – typical of every law firm – lay in the vast quantities of documents it needed scanning.

The company’s reprographics department was continually bombarded with requests for scanning, and putting photocopiers on the network to provide back-up for printers was proving problematic. To tackle the situation, DMC was brought in to install integration of document management, cost recovery, scanning into iManage document management system, OCR and eCopy.

The client is a rapidly expanding legal practice.  They provide a variety of services with a number of specialist departments, focusing particularly on commercial and business law.

They are an Axxia user, who required solutions to be compatible with their existing systems.

They were also seeking to make general cost-savings and to improve the efficiency of their print system. They were willing to encourage users to change print behaviour and implement equipment upgrades to facilitate this.

Based in the North-West of England this law Firm required an upgrade to their present photocopier.  DMC, rather than simply selling them a new machine, made it clear that the priority was to understand the business and to assess the needs of that business.

After completing a full evaluation of the document production, with particular emphasis on its efficiency, DMC were able to make a number of recommendations on areas for potential savings.
